Refund Policy

We want every customer to have a positive experience with CarVerify. This policy explains when refunds apply and how to request one.

1. Premium reports (single purchase)

Premium vehicle history reports are generated instantly using real-time data. Because the service is delivered immediately upon purchase, refunds are generally not available for delivered reports under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

However, we will issue a full refund if:

  • The report was not delivered (e.g., technical failure preventing generation).
  • You were charged more than once for the same report.
  • The report contains materially incorrect data that we are unable to correct.

2. CarVerify+ subscriptions

You can cancel your CarVerify+ subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Refunds for subscription charges are available if:

  • You cancel within 24 hours of being charged and have not used any premium features during that billing period.
  • You were charged after a failed cancellation attempt (please provide evidence of the attempt).
  • A technical issue prevented you from accessing subscription benefits during the billing period.

We do not offer partial refunds for unused portions of a billing period outside of the situations described above.

3. Free checks

Free vehicle checks are provided at no cost and are therefore not eligible for refunds.

4. Data guarantee claims

Our Data Guarantee (up to £30,000) is separate from this refund policy. If you purchased a vehicle based on a CarVerify premium report and the data was incorrect, you may be entitled to compensation under the guarantee.

Data Guarantee claims must be submitted within 90 days of the report date. Contact [email protected] with your report reference, proof of vehicle purchase, and details of the incorrect data.

5. How to request a refund

To request a refund, contact us with:

  • Your email address used for the purchase.
  • The vehicle registration mark (VRM) from the report.
  • Your order or transaction reference.
  • A brief description of the reason for your refund request.

6. Processing time

We aim to review all refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method and typically arrive within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card provider.

7. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK consumer protection legislation.
